Hot or Cold? How to Get the Most Out of Your Insulated Bottle

You've invested in a good vacuum-insulated bottle. Here's how to use it properly so it performs at its best.

For Cold Drinks
Pre-chill your bottle before filling it. Rinse with cold water, let it sit for 2 minutes, then fill with your cold drink and ice. This primes the inner wall and extends cold retention significantly.

For Hot Drinks
Pre-heat with hot water first. Pour boiling water in, let it sit for 1–2 minutes, discard, then fill with your coffee or tea. The inner walls of high-quality vacuum bottles are polished to a reflective finish, which reflects infrared radiation back rather than absorbing it — pre-heating maximises this effect.

Cleaning
Never put your insulated bottle in the dishwasher. The high heat and harsh detergents can degrade the vacuum seal over time. Hand wash with warm soapy water and a bottle brush. Rinse thoroughly.

Avoid
Never put carbonated drinks in a bottle with a sealed lid — pressure builds up. Never freeze your bottle. Never microwave it.

Treat it right and your Sipp vessel will perform at peak for years.
