Most people have heard of BPA. Few understand what it actually does — or how to avoid it.
What Is BPA?
BPA (Bisphenol A) is a chemical found in many plastics. Once inside the body, it is metabolized in the liver, interacts with estrogen receptors, and acts as a hormone disruptor. It has been linked to metabolic disorders and is considered a compound that requires ongoing biomonitoring due to constant daily exposure and bioaccumulation potential.
The "BPA-Free" Trap
Many brands switched to "BPA-free" plastics after the health concerns became public. But BPA-free doesn't mean chemical-free. The replacement chemicals — BPS and BPF — are showing similar hormonal disruption properties in emerging research.
The Only Real Solution
Stainless steel bottles don't contain BPA and are safe for both hot and cold drinks, unlike plastic bottles. Aluminium bottles should be avoided because they require plastic liners that can leach BPA.
304 food-grade stainless steel — what Sipp uses — contains no BPA, no plastic lining, no chemical leaching. What goes in is what comes out: pure drink, pure taste.
